Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe Performance Edition launched at Rs 1.52 crore

The Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe Performance Edition has been launched at Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom) – a Rs 7 lakh premium over the standard AMG GLE Coupe, which costs Rs 1.45 crore. It features the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard, lending it active roll stabilisation, superior brakes, an on-board race telemetrics app and some fresh design elements. 

  1. Gets ventilated and perforated brakes with red calipers
  2. Packs an in-built AMG Track Pace telemetrics app   
  3. Retains the 435hp 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine from the standard 53

Interestingly, the AMG GLE 53 Performance Edition costs Rs 33 lakh less than the standard model did in January 2024, when it was first launched at Rs 1.85 crore.

The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Performance Edition comes with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard, which brings active roll stabilisation, an improved braking system with ventilated and perforated brake discs, red brake calipers and 22-inch alloy wheels finished in black. It is also equipped with the AMG Track Pace app for live on-track telemetry data and a new AMG Performance steering wheel with leatherette upholstery. These are all optional extras on the standard AMG GLE 53. 

Side steps are a notable addition to the exterior. Otherwise, the Performance Edition is no different than the standard model on the outside, featuring LED projector headlights with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and a large grille with an AMG badge and chrome-finished vertical bars. The rear is highlighted by wraparound LED tail-lights, a boot-lid-mounted spoiler and dual tailpipes integrated into both sides of the bumper.

Features from the standard car have been carried over. These include dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a head-up display (HUD), a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger and four-zone climate control. It also gets powered front seats with ventilation, heating and memory functions and a 13-speaker Burmester sound system.

0-100kph in 5.3 seconds (claimed)

The Performance Edition comes with the standard AMG GLE 53’s 3-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine that produces 435hp and 520Nm, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels (AWD). It can go from 0 to 100kph in a claimed 5.3 seconds before maxing out at an electronically limited top speed of 250kph.
