Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a recall of a select batch of its flagship XUV500 SUV model, manufactured between 2011 and 2012, to replace certain parts.

The replacement of three parts, including the fluid hose, front power window units as well as the left wiper blade cover, is to be carried out with immediate effect. The company says the replacement will be carried out free of cost for XUV500 customers, who will be individually contacted.

This recall is in line with industry compliance with SIAM’s voluntary code on vehicle recall announced in July 2012, and is Mahindra's first recall since then.
