Lamborghini has officially closed production of its Murcielago supercar.

Seen in the above picture, this LP670-4 Superveloce is the 4,099th and the last Lamborghini Murciélago to be produced at the automaker's Sant'Agata Bolognese factory. Bearing the special production number, the final one to be produced is, of course, an LP 670-4 Superveloce, sporting a large rear wing and "Arancio Atlas" paintwork marking the end of the car's nine-year production run which had started in 2001.

A replacement is already in the final stages of development and may debut at the next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
