Jaguar has showcased its all-new XJR for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Though the carmaker had previously announced that only one XJ derivative would be in attendance, our sister publication, Autocar UK, spotted the XJR wearing light blue camouflage at the festival's First Glance Paddock.

The powerful rear-wheel-drive super-sedan is equipped with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, ramped up to Jaguar's F-Type R specification, and comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The car is expected to produce 575hp power and up to 680Nm torque. It is likely to sprint 0-100kph in less than 4.4sec and hit a top speed of 282kph.

Jaguar has introduced some stylistic modifications, along with brake and suspension upgrades, in the new XJR. The displayed model sports a glossy black front grille flanked by full-LED headlamps. The exterior also features aggressive bumper designs and new front and rear spoilers. It sits on 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

The car is likely to slot between the super-sedan classes of the Mercedes-AMG E 63 and upcoming BMW M5. It is expected to be launched globally later this year but no announcement has been made yet about an India launch.
