HM’s ambitious new product range

Hindustan Motors is all set to launch a range of new vehicle models and variants with the first product slated to be introduced shortly. The announcement was made by C K Birla, the company’s chairman at the 69th AGM. The company plans to develop and launch of new vehicles and products is to use unutilised capacity and sustainable growth.

HM has completed the development of a 0.8-tonne pickup, a 7-9-seater commercial passenger carrier on the Ambassador platform, a 9-10-seater passenger carrier on LCV Winner platform and an upgraded cargo version of the Winner at its Uttarpara plant.

To be made available in both diesel and CNG, this range will be launched very soon. The Chennai plant, where HM manufactures the Mitsubishi range of vehicles, will witness the launch of a new-generation Pajero SUV, seven-seater Outlander and an upgraded Montero.

HM is also developing a Euro IV-compliant diesel engine on a CRDI platform in collaboration with a European company which should be ready for use in the current financial year. The CRDI generation II fuel efficient engine will meet BS IV norms for both passenger and commercial range of vehicles, Birla added.
