Ford has once again updated the Figo Aspire adding more airbags to the top Titanium automatic trim. The addition of airbags now means that the trim offers seven airbags as against the previous dual front airbags.

The highlight of the newly-introduced airbags is the inclusion of a driver knee airbag, a first for the segment and the first for a car in the sub-10 lakh price bracket. The manual Titanium models carry forward the dual front airbags and ABS as standard offering, while the top Titanium+ trim sees no change in safety equipment.

This is Ford’s second change to the Aspire in recent months with the automaker having previously introduced ABS on the mid-level Trend trim. Previously its hatchback sibling, the Figo too, had received the update. This time around, however, only the Aspire has got the update.

With the latest revision, Ford seems to be looking to provide a greater sense of value to the petrol automatic compact sedan along with giving the car a new USP.

In recent months multiple automakers have introduced airbags and ABS to their mass market models as India moves closer to stricter vehicular safety standards.
