Jaguar will be bringing the F-Type all-wheel-drive to global markets. It has also been confirmed that the F-Type AWD will make its first public appearance at the Los Angeles motor show 2014. This new variant of the F-Type was recently spotted testing on international roads.
The F-Type R coupé AWD does a 0-100kph in a claimed 3.9 seconds, 0.2 second less than the standard car, while reaching the same top speed of 300kph.
The confirmation of the AWD model came on the heels of Jaguar announcing their partnership with the Bloodhound SSC world land speed record team that hopes to break the 1600kph speed barrier in 2015. The AWD F-type coupé took part in a high-speed communications test with the Bloodhound team in South Africa.
The F-type range will include the current standard, S and R-badged models in both coupé and convertible forms, and is also likely to include models with manual transmissions. A new version, powered by a high-performance four-cylinder petrol engine from Jaguar Land Rover's new Ingenium range, is also likely.
