Extended Warranty for Nano

 Tata Motors has announced that all Tata Nanos will now be sold with a 4-year / 60,000-km (whichever is earlier) manufacturer’s warranty, at no extra cost. Existing Nano customers can also avail the benefit of this warranty.

All new Nano buyers also now get the option of a comprehensive maintenance contract at Rs 99 per month. According to Tata Motors, these new perks will help further enhance the satisfaction of Tata Nano users.

After all the news of ‘fire’ incidents involving the Nano, Tata Motors, in November this year, took a few technical measures such as 1) a cover for the catalytic convertor, 2) addition of a fuse in the electrical system to prevent short-circuit post any after-market fitment in the car, 3) replacement of the starter motor (in cars produced till Jan ’10). 

Tata Motors hopes that the introduction of this extended warranty will help boost Nano sales which fell drastically in the previous months.
