The updated Nissan Evalia MPV has been launched at a price of Rs 8.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base XE trim.

The bottom four trims (XE, XE +, XL and XL (Option)) get 14-inch wheels, while the top two trims (XV and XV (Option)) come with 15-inch alloys, rear washer, wiper and defogger, and captain seats for the middle row. The 2-DIN audio system now gets USB connectivity and there is also a sliding middle-row window and a roof-mounted air-con blower for the second row that Nissan says is available as a direct dealer fitment option.

Announcing the changes in the Evalia, Kenichiro Yomura, president, Nissan India Operations, said, “The new features in the Evalia reinforce Nissan’s commitment to the Indian market and consumers. We have listened to our customers closely and have responded to their requirements in a very short span of time."

There are no changes to the mechanicals, so it’s powered by the same 1.5-litre dCi K9K diesel engine which also does duty in various other Nissan and Renault products.

If you’re in the market for a Nissan Evalia and wouldn’t mind a 2012 model, you can buy one with heavy discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh.
