Entries open for Lexus Design Award India 2020

The award has ten categories to compete in; entries will be accepted from August 8 to October 10, 2019.

The Lexus Design Award India (LDAI) 2020 is now open for entries from prospective applicants. Those interested had begun applying for entry from August 8. Applications will continue to be accepted until October 10, 2019. The competition will require entrants to showcase their creativity using Lexus’ key principles – Anticipate, Innovate, Captivate.

The Lexus Design Award India is an annual programme and is now in its fourth edition. Lexus says it serves as a platform for designers both emerging and established. The directive of the award is “Design for a Better Tomorrow” and it has remained unchanged over the years.

There are a total of 10 categories for participants to enter and compete in, which are essentially split in two segments –Established Work and Conceptual Work. There is no application fee to enter the competition and the participants can enter up to five works in each category.

  • Textile Design
  • Craft Design
  • Design Thinking
  • Public Utility Design
  • Lifestyle Accessory Design
  • Design for Social Impact

Conceptual Work

  • Student Category
  • Open Category

Winners of any of these categories will receive Lexus Design Award India trophies and their works will be promoted by Lexus India on digital media and at Lexus Guest Experience Centres. Winners of the Conceptual works categories will additionally be invited to the Lexus Design Event at the Milan Design Week 2020. Another unique feature in this year’s LDAI will see the addition of a new initiative, where finalists from the conceptual category will receive exclusive mentorship.

Judges and mentors for the 2020 Lexus Design Award India will be announced in September this year.
