Mahindra First Choice has launched a ‘Mobile Service Workshop’. It will service vehicles of all makes as well as offer a variety of services ranging from wheel balancing, general and electrical check-ups to vacuuming, washing, tyre changes and battery recharging.

Mahindra First Choice’s COO, Shiv Kiran said, “We asked ourselves a simple question — why does the customer have to come to our workshop for a service? Why can’t we go to their house instead?”

Kiran said the mobile service is not a breakdown vehicle. It aims to offer preventive maintenance services on site, he added. Mahindra First Choice plans to introduce one mobile workshop in every major centre where it currently has an outlet.

The company plans to launch a mobile workshop in Hyderabad by the end of this month followed by Chennai, Pune and Nashik, and then a second one in Mumbai. The mobile workshop will be manned by trained staff. The company will keep its customer premises clean by having trays to collect  oil spills.

The contact point for the mobile service will be the First Choice outlet in the cities which will offer the service once it becomes operational.
