The German-French-Japanese combine may work together even in India, to reap the full potential available in this market.

Incidentally, Daimler’s truck plant in Chennai is located close to Renault-Nissan’s car and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) plant. In an exclusive interview with Autocar India, Dr. Dieter Zetsche – Chairman, Board of Management, Daimler AG & Head of Mercedes-Benz Car Division said “Well, accidentally I would say across the road, we have a Renault-Nissan plant. We have a good relationship. We are working in projects together. If there are good ideas and possibilities that we could pursue together in India, we are open for that from both sides, be it on the procurement side or whatever.”

Daimler-Renault-Nissan struck a tripartite agreement last year for cooperation in developing diesel and petrol engines, LCVs, purchasing and exchange of operational benchmarks and best practices.
