A new Martini Racing Edition of Porsche's 911 Carrera S has been revealed ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race this weekend.

Set to be made available in international markets in the coming months, just 80 models of the special edition car will be put up for sale. It features black or white paintwork, with Martini racing decals covering the boot lid, hood, rear wing and sides. A new front spoiler lip is also fitted, while special door sill panels feature inside as well as new Martini badging and dashboard accents. A special steering wheel also comes with the car, while Porsche's Sport Chrono Package is fitted as standard.

Standard equipment on the model includes Porsche's infotainment system with satellite navigation, an upgraded stereo, a special tachometer and black leather sports seats.

Power for the Martini Racing Edition comes from the same 3.8-litre flat six engine as in the regular 911 Carrera S. That means a total of 395bhp available, a 0-100kph sprint time of 4.1 seconds when fitted with the firm's PDK gearbox and with Sport Plus mode activated. No pricing information on the special edition has been released. Porsche will also begin selling Martini decal kits on the aftermarket for select 911 models.

The 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans race marks Porsche's return to endurance racing, with the petrol-electric hybrid 919 LMP1 car. It's powered by a 2.0-litre V4 direct-injection engine, and will be driven by Mark Webber alongside Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas as well as ex-Formula 1 test driver Neel Jani.
