Brabus unveiled the new 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio at Le Mans 24 hours. The car is based on the Mercedes-AMG S 63 and has a power output of 850hp, making it the world’s fastest and most powerful production four-seat convertible.

The 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio can make the 0-100kph dash in just 3.5 seconds, and as a result of tyre restrictions the top speed is electronically limited to 349.22kph. Brabus claims that the twin-turbocharged V8 engine powering the convertible is capable of producing 1449.36Nm of torque, but has been electronically limited to 1149.73Nm to protect the drivetrain. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission, with aluminium paddle shifters on the steering wheel allowing for manual changes.

The two-door convertible is fitted with carbonfibre body parts including tailor-made surrounds for the large side air intakes in the front bumper, and covers for the wing mirrors. It gets Brabus-designed 21-inch forged wheels, claimed to offer an optimal combination of maximum strength and low weight. While Brabus is offering a number of tyre designs to choose from, there is also an option to upgrade to 22-inch wheels.

The interior is fitted with a number of aluminium components and scuff plates with a backlit Brabus logo that changes colour according to the ambient interior light used. Meanwhile, the production wood inlays and trim strips have been replaced by carbonfibre components.

The Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio is currently on sale in international markets. Existing owners of Mercedes-AMG S 63 convertibles can choose to have their cars upgraded to the 850 specification as well.
