    Autocar Performance Show 2010

The Autocar Performance Show is back. Over the years you have seen some of the meanest machines here including the Renault F1 car, the record-breaking JCB Dieselmax, the Lambos, Ferraris and Porsches. The 2010 edition promises even more extravagant, audacious and potent machines.

The Autocar Performance Show, as you know, has become an annual pilgrimage for petrolheads across the country. It’s because this is not any ordinary motor show for ordinary cars. There is no space here for sensible cars boasting of their fuel economy or how clean the exhausts from tailpipes are. This is a show dedicated to performance. It’s all about extreme machines. It is a pageant that celebrates the sensual over the sensible, the extravagant rather than the economical, and spectacular scores over sober.

    Pulse-racing, heart-stopping supercars

You have seen them in posters. You have seen them in Hollywood films. You have seen them in coffee-table books. You have seen them in previous Autocar Performance Shows. But still they are guaranteed to make your heart skip a beat and your jaw hit the floor when you see these beauties in the flesh. Cars penned by Italian designers obsessed with Sophia Loren and Monica Bellucci. Madcap motors engineered by Germans under the influence of Oktoberfest. Vehicles designed by Americans dreaming of world dominance. Yes, all the big boys will be there.

    Awesome 4x4 track experience
You don’t have to spend the GDP of a small country to enjoy the pleasure of driving a fabulous car on the road. In fact, you don’t even need a road. Get into a Mahindra SUV and get the ultimate off-road experience. Get into the thick of action on a specially created track with mud, slush, gravel, water and obstacles to challenge vehicle and driver. This is real 4x4 action.

    Ride on the wild side
It’s not just exciting cars but a full garage of exciting bikes at the Autocar Performance Show. Not the fill it-shut it-forget-it bikes, but big, screaming, tyre-shredding monsters that will bite you back if you are not careful.

    And then some more
The best thing about the Autocar Performance Show is that it is not just about marveling at the magnificent machines. At the Show you can make your dream garage come alive. Meet the big daddies of tuning and find all performance enhancement kits you can think of under one roof.

Bolt-on exhausts, air filters, spoilers, sport-seats, NOS kits, custom shocks, modded cam heads, ECU tuning, the works. Then stamp your personality into your car with a basket of aftermarket gizmos and accessories. From entertainment systems to driving aids to cosmetic makeovers, there’s something for everyone.

    High-torque party
The Autocar Performance Show is not just about cars and bikes and engines and horsepower and camshafts. It’s also about having high-torque fun. At the JBL party. Yes, there’s a certain music in the burble of a V12, but the JBL Party at the Performance Show is going to stick to the more conventional kind of music like rock and hip-hop. Crazy cars plus headbanging music plus big party equals one awesome experience.

    Special surprise
The Autocar Performance Show is also a platform for carmakers to showcase some of their forthcoming models to real enthusiasts. Over the years, this is where you have first seen some new attractions. This year again, get ready to be surprised. We have been sworn to secrecy about the machines that will be unveiled here. All we can say is, you won’t be disappointed.

The Autocar Performance Show will be held at the MMRDA Grounds of Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex from November 18 to 21, 2010. The gates open at 11:00am and close at 8:00pm. Be there.
