2018 Ford Aspire price, variants explained

Ford has brought out the refreshed Aspire compact sedan priced at Rs 5.55-8.49 lakh, spread between five trim levels. While the number of variants is the same as the outgoing model, the sportier Sports Edition variants have been discontinued in favour of a new mid-spec Trend+ trim. Like the outgoing model, the petrol-automatic is only offered on the mid-spec Titanium variant.

The new Aspire has been upgraded in nearly every aspect, from cosmetic changes on the outside and inside to new engine and gearbox options. While the 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual has only been tweaked for more efficiency, the 96hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine has replaced the older model’s 88hp, four-cylinder unit. The powertrain on the automatic is new as well – the EcoSport’s 123hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine and 6-speed torque convertor automatic has replaced the older 110hp, 1.5-litre petrol that was mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch unit.
