    2012 Mercedes SLK Images leak

Here are the pictures of the soon-to-be-unveiled 2012 Mercedes SLK. The pictures were capped from a possibly leaked promotional video.

Looking at the video, we can tell that, even though the new SLK's silhouette remains familiar, there are plenty of new details and a crisper styling for the body which brings to mind the larger SL model. There is also a noticeable front grill which is clearly inspired by the CLS coupe saloon.

The pictures show design highlights such as front quarter vents, adaptive headlights which include LED daytime running lights, LED equipped integrated trunk-lid spoiler. The model in the video seems to be equipped with an optional AMG package which is said to have a revised front, AMG wheels as well as cross drilled brakes.

The Interior seems to be hugely inspired by the SLS. A prominent center console, with round vents for air-conditioning. A dash mounted clock and an innovative draft guard system which is integrated in the roll bars. On the optional equipment side, we can expect goodies like Airscarf, a high end Harman Kardon audio system, COMMAND system as well as a electrochromic glass roof, known as the Magic Sky roof.

Mercedes also promises premium materials, enhanced handling and more advanced 7G-Tronic Plus transmissions. Engine choices should include a variety of four-cylinder and V6 gasoline units, and if the rumors turn out to be true, a diesel option may very well be on the menu for the first time in the SLK's history.

The production version of the SLK will be unveiled in March 2011 with India sales following shortly thereafter.
