Vinfast’s upcoming EV is set to feed the growing demand for MPVs in India.

Leading up to its launch in India, test mules of Vinfast's upcoming electric MPV have once again been spotted testing on public roads wearing extensive camouflage. Called the Limo Green in certain markets (including Vietnam), this upcoming electric MPV will join the brand’s India line-up that currently consists of the VF6 and VF7 SUVs. Upon its arrival, this Vinfast MPV is likely to find competition in the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7.

  2. The electric MPV's cabin likely to seat up to 7 occupants
  3. India debut expected soon

Vinfast electric MPV design

There are SUV-esque elements to this exterior

These new spy shots of the upcoming Vinfast electric MPV showcase a sloping bonnet that leads to a low nose, which houses sleek wraparound LED daytime running lights (DRLs) with the vertically aligned main headlamps placed below in the bumper. The lower apron looks sporty with its protruding chin and a centrally located air dam.

Around the sides, we can see aero-optimised wheels with disc brakes front and back, plus black lower-body cladding. The window-line tapers towards the rear and appears to feature a thin chrome strip as well, while the upright-looking rear pillars and extended overhang at the back with a relatively flat roofline could lend this electric MPV an SUV-esque stance from certain angles. Instead of the flush door handles that are common on most new EVs nowadays, the test mule of Vinfast's new electric MPV can be seen sporting the traditional pull-type mechanism.

Meanwhile, the upright rear facade gets black cladding for the bumper that also features vertical vents and static reflectors, a protruding roof spoiler up top and horizontally laid-out LED tail-lights that appear to have a wrap-around design. That said, these spy shots do not reveal connected LED bars at the rear. These new spy shots also showcase the upcoming Vinfast MPV to be a fairly large vehicle, though we do not know the exact dimensions as yet. However, it would be fair to say that this EV will occupy a fair bit of real estate on our roads.

While these spy images do not show the interior of this Vinfast electric MPV in particular, they do reveal a few details nevertheless. On the dashboard, we can see a tablet-style touchscreen, which is likely to be a 10.1-inch head unit as available in the Limo Green that is sold in other markets. As mentioned in one of our earlier Limo Green stories, this upcoming electric MPV is also likely to feature wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, automatic climate control and powered front seats, among other modern convenience-related equipment. These new spy shots also show headrests right at the back which, along with the extended rear overhang, possibly confirm a third row of seats.

Vinfast electric MPV powertrain

The Vinfast Limo Green, as it is sold in Vietnam, comes equipped with a 60.13kWh battery pack, which then energises a front-mounted electric motor that produces 201hp and 280Nm. The claimed NEDC range of the Vietnam-market Limo Green is 450km, and the battery pack of this electric MPV is capable of accepting 11kW AC charging and 80kW DC fast-charging. While the automaker hasn’t mentioned a specific launch date yet for the India-spec model, we expect its new electric MPV to make its debut here very soon.
