Next-gen Hyundai i20 engine and gearbox details

The new model comes with two engine and gearbox options in Brazil

Hyundai is offering the next-gen i20 in Brazil with two 1.0-litre three-cylinder engines. Both engines are capable of running on 30 percent ethanol-blended petrol (E30), which is the standard petrol in Brazil. They can also accept much higher levels of ethanol, though Hyundai Brazil hasn’t clarified whether this will be pure ethanol or not. The entry-level naturally aspirated (NA) engine is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The former two are only offered with the manual transmission and naturally aspirated engine, while the latter three get the turbo-petrol direct injection mill with the automatic gearbox.
