Maruti Brezza facelift: what to expect
The biggest update to the Brezza could be the addition of Maruti's 1.0-litre 'Boosterjet' turbo-petrol engine, which is also offered with the Fronx. In the Fronx, this engine produces 100hp and 148Nm. It could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, which was previously spotted on a Brezza test mule. The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG options are expected to continue.
If introduced, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine would make select Brezza variants eligible for the lower 18 percent GST rate applicable to sub-4-metre petrol cars with engines up to 1,200cc. Currently, the Brezza is currently the only compact SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine option.
The Brezza facelift is expected to get minor exterior changes, including revised bumpers and lighting elements, along with a new four-spoke alloy wheel design. Previous spy shots have also indicated cabin updates, including new trim and a revised colour scheme.
New features could include a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and Level 2 ADAS. Test mules have also been spotted with front parking sensors.
Updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Expected price
While the company has not yet announced prices for the updated SUV, the Brezza facelift is expected to command a slight premium over the current model, which is priced between Rs 8.26 lakh and Rs 12.86 lakh. It will continue to rival the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet and Syros.
