Maruti Suzuki has said that it will extend the warranty and free service for its customers till June 30, 2021. The extension is valid for both standard and extended warranty.

  • Valid for cars whose warranty or free service expires between March 15 and May 31
  • All-new Celerio expected to be company’s next big launch

The extension is valid for owners whose car’s warranty period or free service cover is expiring between March 15 and May 31. The carmaker said the move was to enable customers facing restriction in movement due to lockdown measures in several states across the country to continue to avail of service once these measures ease.

Speaking about the extension, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Director (Service), Maruti Suzuki India said, “With customer convenience at the core of initiatives, we have decided to extend the free services, warranty and extended warranty for our customers till June 30th 2021. Earlier, these were expiring between March 15th and May 31st, 2021. Since customers in several States are facing restricted movement, this extension will give them relief. They can avail these services at their convenience, as lockdown eases.”

Maruti is the latest carmaker after Tata and Toyota to announce the extension in validity of the warranty period and service cover for its cars and SUVs. The carmaker had also recently announced an extension to its ongoing plant shutdown with the carmaker’s production activities to now resume from May 17.

Maruti Suzuki: New launches for India

For 2021, Maruti’s next big launch for the Indian market is expected to be the new second-gen Celerio. The budget hatchback was originally expected to arrive late last year though delays will now see it arrive in the coming months.

The carmaker is also working on a longer version of the Suzuki Jimny SUV for the Indian market which, unlike its international sibling, will be larger and feature a five-door design.
