The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is an upcoming adventure motorcycle that will be launched on September 4. It is being developed as a spiritual successor to the original Himalayan 411 and is expected to sit between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450. The Himalayan 440 will use the Scram 440's 443cc single-cylinder engine and is expected to get a 21-inch front wheel, a 17-inch rear wheel and spoked rims. Its front suspension travel is also expected to increase to around 200mm, making it better suited to off-road riding.

The new Himalayan 440, codenamed D4G, is expected to retain the simple styling of the original Himalayan 411. Its seat height is also expected to be around 800mm, making it more accessible than the current Himalayan 450, which has an 825mm seat height.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is expected to launch in India on September 4, 2026, in Leh, Ladakh.

Pre-booking details are yet to be announced. Once bookings open, the Himalayan 440 is expected to be available through the official Royal Enfield website and mobile app.

The Himalayan 440 is expected to have a simpler setup, with air-and-oil cooling, a conventional instrument cluster and simpler suspension hardware. The Himalayan 450 gets liquid cooling, a TFT display and USD front forks.

The Himalayan 440 is more focused on off-road riding, with a 21-inch front wheel and 200mm suspension travel. The Scram 440 uses a smaller 19-inch front wheel and has a more road-focused setup.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is expected to rival motorcycles such as the KTM 390 Adventure and Yezdi Adventure.
