India Yamaha Motor plans to launch their first scooter, the Ray by Diwali. Displayed as a prototype at the Auto Expo, the stylish, small capacity (100-125cc) scooter targets the fairer sex.

Roy Kurian, national business head, India Yamaha Motor has stated ongoing capacity expansion at Yamaha’s Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) factory shall conclude this year, following which Yamaha’s yearly production will reach one million units from six lakh units today. Yamaha is simultaneously scouting for land in the south to put up another manufacturing facility.
