The TVS Jupiter, launched in 2013, has clocked sales of 2 million units within four years of its launch. The Jupiter was the fastest scooter to reach the one million sales mark, doing so in 30 months. Even though these figures cannot be compared to the Honda Activa’s number of 15 million sales, they are impressive nonetheless.

Just last month, TVS launched a new version of the Jupiter called the Classic. As the name suggests, the Jupiter Classic features retro-themed design details like round chrome mirrors, a new ‘sunlit ivory’ body colour, a chrome backrest and a new windscreen. The Classic also comes with a USB charger and a dual-tone seat.

TVS also recently introduced a combined braking system called Sync Brake System (SBS) for the Jupiter. It automatically activates the front brake when the rear brake is used, similar to the combined braking Hero and Honda have been offering.

TVS is also currently working on an electric scooter for the India market and looks to enter the EV segment in late 2018.
