Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 discontinued; replaced by new 450.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan will make its global debut at EICMA 2023 on November 7. However, the official India price is likely to be revealed at Royal Enfield’s annual Motoverse motorcycle festival (earlier called Rider Mania) in Goa between November 24-26.

When the new age Himalayan goes on sale, it will replace the existing Himalayan 411 that's been out since 2016. As the full specifications have now been revealed, you will be aware that the new bike is a world apart from the old motorcycle, both in terms of power and technology.

Prices are not out yet, but it's safe to assume that the new Himalayan will cost a good deal more than the existing Himalayan, which is priced between Rs 2.15 lakh-2.3 lakh, ex-showroom.

For those who may want to stick with the more cost effective model – or those who prefer the old school air/oil-cooled engine – there will still be the choice of the Scram 411 that will continue to be on sale. In fact, we've reported earlier that Royal Enfield was working on a larger Scram 440 with a reworked air-cooled engine, so the Scram in this old-school form will be around for the long term.

Our detailed full review of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be out on the November 10.
