Royal Enfield says the Himalayan 450 is best-selling in its class in India and Brazil
Royal Enfield says the Himalayan’s annual global sales have crossed 38,000 units, up from around 9,600 units when the all-new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was introduced towards the end of 2023. The company also claims the model is currently the best-selling motorcycle in its class in India and Brazil. The Himalayan 450 is powered by a new Sherpa 450 liquid-cooled engine, marking a significant step forward from the original Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 launched in 2016.
Since its debut, Royal Enfield says, the Himalayan has played a key role in shaping the mid-size adventure touring segment, offering a simple, go-anywhere package. The brand further expanded the lineup in 2025 with the introduction of the Mana Black edition that comes with a matte black paint job and the rally kit as standard.
Beyond sales, Royal Enfield highlights the Himalayan’s strong global presence through participation in events like the ABR Festival and long-distance expeditions, including multiple round-the-world rides. The company also aims to expand the lifestyle ecosystem around the motorcycle through initiatives such as the Himalayan Odyssey and the Great Himalayan Exploration.
With growing traction in international markets such as Brazil, alongside its strong appeal in India, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 continues to bolster Royal Enfield’s position in the global mid-size adventure touring segment. The company is set to further expand the Himalayan line-up, with a larger 750cc iteration already previewed in prototype form at EICMA 2025.
