Royal Enfield is preparing to enter the next phase of its middleweight strategy with the launch of a brand-new 750cc platform, and leading the charge will be the Continental GT-R. The company’s latest test mule caught testing showcases a half-fairing styled after its GT Cup race machines.

Royal Enfield Continental GT-R: What do we know?

The 750cc platform will include the Interceptor 750 and Himalayan 750

Earlier this year, we reported that the Continental GT-R will be the first motorcycle to feature the new 750cc engine. This test mule stays true to that report and appears to have a front cowl that extends over the fuel tank – featuring integrated turn indicators – and casts a cafe‑racer silhouette with clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs.

The test bike rides on alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres and features dual front disc brakes, a first for any Royal Enfield. Internally codenamed R1E, the Continental GT-R is expected to sit above the current 650cc range, both in terms of performance and pricing. Also visible is a single-pod digital instrument cluster, likely similar to the TFT units on the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450, suggesting a step up in digital functionality as well.

The engine itself is an evolution of the current 648cc parallel-twin, and while power figures haven’t been revealed yet, it is expected to offer a noticeable step up from the 47hp/52.3Nm currently seen on the Interceptor and Continental GT 650. It will likely be positioned as Royal Enfield’s performance flagship and is expected to command a premium over the current GT 650 line-up. The Continental GT-R will likely debut globally sometime in 2025, possibly around EICMA, with an India launch to follow in the first half of 2026.
