Bajaj Auto recently launched the new Pulsar Adventure Sport series comprising the Pulsar AS150 and the AS200. The launch of the two adventure sport bikes took the company’s new launches for the year to five bikes, with the Pulsar RS200, Platina ES and the 2015 CT100 having come earlier this year.

The Pulsar AS series comes equipped with body fairings, an extended visor and projector headlamps, and is aimed at young riders who want bikes for long-distance weekend getaways.

The company has set sales targets of 10,000 units a month for the AS150, and 5,000 units a month for the AS200.

Bajaj MD, Rajiv Bajaj also dispelled any rumours about the discontinuation of the Pulsar 220 saying that it is a segment leader and that it is the “original legacy of the Pulsar” alongside the 180cc and 150cc variants. He also confirmed that the Pulsar 400 showcased at the Auto Expo would enter production sometime later this year.

According to SIAM results, Bajaj Auto posted domestic sales of 17,70,778 – a drop of 15.65 percent in two-wheeler sales during 2014-15. In response to the figure, the company pointed out that it had exported 18 lakh units in the financial year 2014-15; a growth of 14 percent year on year.
