    Ola Electric has rolled out the MoveOS 4 software update, but it is initially available only to owners of the Ola S1 Gen 1 electric scooter, S1 Pro (2nd Generation) and S1 Air. The S1 X+ will also receive the update in the coming months. MoveOS is Ola’s software platform through which its e-scooters keep receiving periodical OTA (over the air) updates. 

    1. Favourites-only calling function, resettable trip metres now introduced
    2. AI-based upgrades offer real-time alerts for tampering or falls

    Key Features of Ola MoveOS 4

    The MoveOS 4 update now allows users to locate their scooters through the Ola Electric App. The Ola Map gets an updated navigation system providing enhanced routing accuracy, favourite locations (decided by the user) and a redesigned layout for the navigation data. 

    Meanwhile, in terms of riding features, MoveOS 4 brings improvements to its existing hill-descent control and now allows users to enable cruise-control in Eco mode as well. There is also an introduction of certain AI-based controls which include auto turn-off indicators, tamper and fall detection system that provides real-time alerts to the users through the Ola electric app.

    MoveOS 4 also brings in features like Geofencing and Timefencing which allow the user to define specific operation areas, set a timeframe for the operation of the scooter and even limit riding modes in a particular region when a secondary user operates the scooter. Other functions include a passcode reset option via Bluetooth or the cloud to ensure easy recovery of forgotten passwords. 

    The Ola Electric app features an overhaul of its own, featuring a ‘Ride Journal’ which gives users the ability to share milestones amongst the other Ola owners and view ride metrics as well. The app now gets a dark mode and some widgets that can be enabled on the users’ smartphones. Favourites-only calling option, resettable trip metres and the updated ‘Moods’ feature contribute to other updated personalised user experience.
