The KTM RC range in India recently got updated with revised colour schemes. Along with this update, the company also silently made a switch to MRF tyres on the RC 390 and the 390 Duke.

Prior to this update, both the 390 Duke and RC 390 came equipped with imported Metzeler tyres. These bikes now use the MRF Revz C1 tyres that the lower performance Duke and RC models come equipped with. We are given to understand that the switch was made because the company is facing an issue importing the German tyres.

It is too early to say if this change will be permanent, but if it is, what remains to be seen is if the company will make a price adjustment and lower the prices of the 390 Duke and RC 390. As of now, the KTM 390 bikes that are already in dealerships with MRF tyres will be sold at the same rate as before.

Another motorcycle that could be affected by this is the KTM’s 390 Adventure. Like the other 390s, it also uses Metzeler rubber, but where those use the M5 Sportec, the ADV uses Metzeler Tourances tyres. There has been no report yet on 390 Adventures coming with MRF tyres, but we could see that bike run the more affordable tyres that are expected developed for the upcoming KTM 250 Adventure.
