KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track: What’s new?

Purpose-built track weapon that weighs 20kg less than the 1390 Super Duke R

The RR Track is the first track-only Super Duke in KTM’s portfolio. Stripped of all road-legal components, it has been developed to meet strict FIM circuit regulations, with a clear focus on delivering maximum performance on track.

Built at KTM’s Mattighofen facility, the 1390 Super Duke RR Track tips the scales at 177kg (wet weight, without fuel), which is 9kg less than the street-legal 1390 Super Duke RR and 20kg less than the standard 1390 Super Duke R. The weight saving comes from the extensive use of carbon-fibre bodywork, forged magnesium wheels, titanium fasteners and a full titanium Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust. KTM has also simplified the electronics package in line with its track-only brief.

Power comes from the latest iteration of KTM’s LC8 V-twin, producing 196hp at 10,000rpm and 151Nm of torque. With the ram-air effect at speed, output rises to 202hp, giving it a claimed power-to-weight ratio of over 1:1. The engine is paired with a redesigned ram-air intake and a larger 10-litre airbox to improve airflow and performance.

Cycle parts include WP Pro suspension derived from MotoGP technology and a Superbike-spec Brembo braking system. The front features Brembo GP4 MS brake calipers with T-Drive discs, while the rear gets a Brembo P2.34 caliper with a wave disc, along with Corsa Corta master cylinders. Michelin Power Performance slick tyres come as standard, and the RR Track also features winglets to increase downforce and reduce front-wheel lift.

The electronics suite includes three dedicated track ride modes, with adjustability for parameters such as wheelie control and engine brake control, among others. A simplified 4.2-inch TFT display similar to that seen on the 390 Enduro R with a track-focused interface handles rider information, while the switchgear has been reduced for ease of use on the circuit.

Ergonomics have been tailored for track riding, with a lower handlebar, a revised tank shape for better support under braking, and a high level of rider adjustability. The bike also gets a 17.5-litre fuel tank designed for optimal weight distribution, along with a single-seat setup supported by a carbon-fibre undertray. The KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track will be strictly limited to 100 units globally.
