We broke the story of Hyosung’s GT250R coming to India back in November 2011, but prospective buyers must now wait a little longer as Garware Motors awaits related budget announcements that could directly affect pricing. Once in Indian showrooms, the quarter liter Hyosung will have to fend off stiff competition from established players, Kawasaki’s Ninja 250R and the Honda CBR250R.

Garware is going a step further however, with plans to simultaneously launch the GV650 around May 2012, a cruiser powered by a V-twin, 647cc fuel-injected and liquid-cooled engine. The GV650 makes approximately 70bhp and features a five-speed, one-down and four-up shifted gearbox. Upside-down type telescopic forks are deployed as front suspension, with twin shocks used at rear. Braking is via a pair of 300mm front discs and single 270mm rear disc. The GV650 will be priced in the region of Rs 475,000 to Rs 500,000 (ex-showroom).

Following which, Garware plans to launch the smaller capacity GV250 post July 2012. Powered by a V-twin, 249cc, fuel-injected, air and oil-cooled engine, the GV250 makes close to 25bhp, also using a five-speed trasmission. Suspension will be telescopic in front and twin rear shocks, while brakes are a single disc in front and rear drum unit. Pricing and other details for the GV250 remain undisclosed for now.
