Honda NS125 LA engine and features
The NS125 LA is currently on sale in international markets like China
While the design has now been registered locally, this is not an indicator of a launch. Honda has previously patented other models in India, including the Honda Scoopy, NPF125, CB190TR and CG160. The Japanese manufacturer often files similar patents for intellectual property rights, and it’s unlikely any of the aforementioned models will be launching here anytime soon.
The NS125 LA features old-school styling with smooth-flowing lines and minimalistic panels. It’s powered by a 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 9.5hp and 10Nm. On paper, these figures are similar to those of the Activa 125 sold here – 8.4hp and 10.5Nm. The suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork up front and a single rear shock, while the scooter runs on a 12-inch wheel at the front and a 10-inch one at the rear.
Notable features on the NS125 LA include a TFT dash with smartphone connectivity, enabling vehicle tracking, tyre-pressure monitoring and ride data. Certain variants overseas are also equipped with ABS.
As with previous patents, this one appears to be more about safeguarding design rights, and there is no indication that the NS125 LA will be introduced here anytime soon.
