At the recent Honda Shine 100 launch, Atsushi Ogata, president and CEO HMSI, told a select group of journalists that the company has some upgrades planned for its immensely popular Activa 6G.

    1. Expected to be priced between Rs 85,000-90,000
    2. Will get digital display, Bluetooth connectivity

Ogata revealed that the response to the recently launched Activa H-Smart Edition – which brings a keyless system – has been greater than the company expected. Buoyed by this, Honda has more updates in line for its 110cc scooter.

While this upgrade will not mark a change to the next-generation Honda Activa 7G, the company will soon offer the Activa 6G with features like a digital display and Bluetooth connectivity. These are both likely to be offered on a new, high-spec variant that will likely also offer the keyless system.

This upgrade will bring the Activa closer to its biggest rival, the TVS Jupiter when it comes to features. The Activa currently only has an analogue display, while the Jupiter ZX Smart connect model comes with a fully digital display as well as Bluetooth connectivity.

The Honda Activa 6G is comfortably India’s bestselling scooter and it is a big contributor to Honda’s sales volumes in India. The Activa H-Smart is priced at Rs 80,537, so you can expect these upgrades to take the Activa model closer to the Rs 85,000-90,000 mark. Expect the mechanical aspects of the scooter to stay the same, with a 110cc engine, CVT automatic transmission and the much loved full metal bodywork.
