Hero MotoCorp, the two-wheeler market leader in India, has reported a strong uptick in sales during the recent festive season. The company's sales grew by 20 percent during the 32-day period compared to the corresponding festive period of the previous financial year.

    • Splendor+, Glamour, XPulse drive sales
    • Destini scooter sees total sales of 61,692 units

The sales were led by high demand across key states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Karnataka. In a statement, Hero MotoCorp said the sales were driven by the strong performance of its popular motorcycles across segments, including the 100cc Splendor+, 125cc Glamour and Super Splendor, and the XPulse 200 range in the premium segment.

The company's scooter sales grew as well, with its 125cc offering, the Destini, clocking a total of 61,692 units, up 41 percent year on year.

Hero MotoCorp, however, has not provided specific sales numbers. “A positive turnaround in customer sentiment in the just concluded 32-day festive period – starting from the first day of Navratras till the day after Bhai Duj – has also enabled the company to register a significant gain in its market share,” the company said.

Hero MotoCorp's strong performance can also be attributed to the Grand Indian Festival of Trust (GIFT) that it initiated, which included a refreshed motorcycle line-up, retail benefits, financing schemes and pre-booking offers. In addition, Hero scooters were offered with benefits up to Rs 13,500 including year-long insurance, 2-year free maintenance, Rs 3000 exchange bonus, Rs 4,000 gift vouchers, 5-year warranty and 6 months EMI offers with zero percent interest.

In other news, Hero MotoCorp is readying a new segment of motorcycles that includes an ADV and a supersport, both of which were spotted testing in Ladakh.
