Yamaha is expected to launch its highly-anticipated FZ-X retro motorcycle on June 18, and select dealerships have now begun taking bookings for the upcoming bike.

  • Booking amount ranges from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000
  • Deliveries expected to begin by August
  • Expected to be priced at around Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom)

As its launch nears , there are more developments about the Yamaha FZ-X. We already have a fair idea of what it’ll look like, thanks to these spy pictures, and we also know some of the specs, thanks to this leaked document. Now, we’ve learned that certain Yamaha dealers have begun accepting bookings for the upcoming retro motorcycle.

Yamaha FZ-X booking amount

Some dealers will set aside your FZ-X for as little as Rs 1,000 while others are demanding a booking amount of Rs 5,000 to 10,000. These  dealers have come up with a system where your booking will currently be made against the standard FZ or FZS models and then converted into an FZ-X booking once the bike is launched, guaranteeing you one of the first slots in the queue.

Yamaha FZ-X expected price and variants

The bike is expected to launch on June 18 for approximately Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom), probably with a non-Bluetooth variant that sits slightly under this amount and a Bluetooth-equipped version that’s priced slightly higher. Deliveries are expected to begin by August, and should you find the price or the motorcycle not to your liking, the booking amount can be fully refunded in the event of a cancellation.

Yamaha FZ-X colours

We’ve also learned about some of the colour schemes that will be available. The matte black and matte orange paint options that have already been spotted, will be supplemented by another silver/grey scheme, according to Yamaha dealers.
