The latest GST revision is a boon for the two-wheeler market in India when it comes to mass volume sales, but it punishes bikes above 350cc. Ducati is one of the motorcycle brands hit harder by this shift to 40 percent GST for bikes above 350cc as that accounts for every motorcycle it makes.

  1. Smallest price hike for the Scrambler Icon Dark
  2. Biggest price hike for the Multistrada V4 RS
  3. No Ducati now under Rs 10 lakh in India

Ducati prices in India jump by upto Rs 2.8 lakh

Ducati presently sells over 20 motorcycles in India

The Ducati Scrambler has always been the most affordable bike in the Italian company’s line up. However the latest price hike pushes even the base Scrambler Icon Dark’s price above the Rs 10 lakh mark to Rs 10,65,200.

Popular models like the Street Fighter V2 which is soon to be replaced with the new gen model as well as the DesertX are now knocking on the door of the 20 lakh price point. Meanwhile top end versions of the Panigale V4 and Multistrada V4 are close to, or above the Rs 40 lakh mark.

The most expensive Ducati bike in India is currently the Multistrada V4 RS which is now priced at Rs 43,46,700. However that could change when the recently revealed Ducati Panigale V4 R launches in India. This is a homologation special bike with a 998cc V4 engine (against the 1103cc V4 in the Panigale V4) which allows the company to compete in top racing series such as WSBK. The V4 R will be made in limited numbers and the company has traditionally offered such models for sale in India as well.
