Benelli has launched the TRK 552 and TRK 552X. The road-biased 552 is priced at Rs 7.22 lakh, whereas the slightly more off-road capable 552X is priced at Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings for the new motorcycles are now open through authorised Benelli Keeway dealerships.

  2. Carries forward the same design and feature set from the TRK 502 range

Benelli TRK 552 and 552X details

The new engine produces 51.2hp and 49Nm of torque

This new generation TRK range uses a larger 552cc twin-cyl motor, replacing the previous 499.6cc engine. This mill produces 51.2hp at 8,500 rpm and 49 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. These motorcycles feature a 5-inch TFT display with offline maps, smartphone connectivity, heated grips, heated rider’s seat and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as standard.

Interestingly, both motorcycles share a same kerb weight of 235kg, which is on the heavier side when compared to rivals like the Honda NX500 E-Clutch (199kg) and Kawasaki Versys 650 (220kg). To match their adventure touring intent, these bikes come equipped with a decent 20-liter fuel tank. Ground clearance and seat height differ between the two, with the TRK 552 featuring an 190mm ground clearance and 835mm seat height, compared to the TRK 552X’s taller 860mm stance and 210mm of ground clearance, owing to the same suspension unit.

While the motorcycles share their powertrains and chassis packages, their cycle parts are different. The road-biased TRK 552 gets a 17-inch alloy wheel setup, whereas the off-road focused 552X features a 19/17 wheel setup with cross-spoked wheels. The TRK 552 gets 120- section front and 160-section rear tyres from Pirelli, while the TRK 552X features 110- section front and 150-section rear tyres from Metzeler.

Currently, the Benelli TRK 552 is available in two colourways of black and white, and will set you back by Rs 7.22 lakh. The TRK 552X is offered in white and green, and it retails at Rs 7.74 lakh. Additionally, there’s also a limited edition yellow colour coupled with golden rims that is based on the 552X and costs Rs 16,000 more. For a similar price there are more mainstream offerings from the Japanese, like the Honda NX500 E-Clutch (Rs 7.44 lakh) and the Kawasaki Versys 650 (Rs 8.63 lakh), although the Kawasaki commands a significant premium.

All prices are ex-showroom.
