Aprilia India has announced that it will discontinue the Storm 125 disc brake-equipped variant from July 2022 onwards. This means the entry-level scooter will be available in one variant only – a drum brake with Combined Braking System (CBS), priced at Rs 1 lakh.

The company had introduced the Storm 125 disc brake variant in 2020 with the BS6 update, however, it did not get ABS at that time. The rest of the mechanical bits are the same as on the drum brake variant. To reiterate, the scooter is powered by a 9.92hp, 9.7Nm, 125cc engine that comes paired with a CVT transmission.

It has the same chassis as the Aprilia SR 125, but it runs on 12-inch wheels that are shod with chunky Vee Rubber tyres.

In terms of competition, the Aprilia Storm 125 goes up against the TVS Ntorq 125 (Rs 90,503), Suzuki Avenis 125 (Rs 86,500) and Yamaha Ray ZR 125 (Rs 96,073).
