2019 Kawasaki Ninja 650 launched at Rs 5.49 lakh

Kawasaki has just launched the 2019 Ninja 650 with a starting price of Rs 5.49 lakh. The KRT model is priced at Rs 5.69 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The blue colour scheme launched this past January has been discontinued and will not be available on the 2019 model.

These prices are identical to the current prices of the outgoing models on Kawasaki India’s site. The same can be said about the new motorcycle, as it remains virtually identical to the current model. Deliveries for the 2019 model are set to begin in one month’s time. Kawasaki has said that it will continue selling the 2018 model year Ninja 650 in blue until stocks last.

The entry-level premium motorcycle is mechanically unchanged and continues with the 649cc, parallel-twin motor producing 68hp and 65.7Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 790mm seat height, 15-litre fuel tank, 140mm of ground clearance, 1,410mm wheelbase and 196kg kerb weight are all also unchanged. Like the outgoing bike, the motorcycle continues to feature ABS and a slipper clutch.

Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors, said “With this launch we are continuing a string of MY19 launches in India. In 650cc category we have four distinct motorcycles and Ninja 650 is one of them. We have observed a very stable demand for Ninja 650 in India at it comes with attractive price. I hope our Ninja 650 in metallic spark black achieves the same success as the other variants have.”
