Mahindra-owned Classic Legends – the parent company of Yezdi, Jawa and BSA – has announced that prices for the BSA Gold Star 650 will remain unaffected by the GST 2.0 reform.
- BSA Gold Star prices unaffected for first 500 customers
- Prices will rise by Rs 21,000 – at a minimum – after that tenure
- Available in six colours
BSA Gold Star price remains unchanged despite higher GST rates
Currently, prices start at Rs 3.10 lakh and go up to Rs 3.45 lakh
Since the Gold Star’s engine displaces 652cc, the government’s revised GST rate levied upon the motorcycle rises to 40 percent, up from 28 percent previously. This has driven up the prices of quite a few 350cc+ motorcycles, but some manufacturers, like Harley-Davidson, Bajaj and Aprilia, have decided to absorb the hit and keep the prices of their bikes the same as before.
The Gold Star 650 is BSA’s only product in India currently, and it is available in a single variant with six colours options. Highland Green and Insignia Red are the most affordable, priced at Rs 3.10 lakh. Then you have the Midnight Black and Dawn Silver colours at Rs 3.22 lakh. Above that is the Shadow Black, at Rs 3.26 lakh, and finally, you have the Legacy Edition Silver Sheen colour, priced at Rs 3.45 lakh. Do bear in mind that these pre-GST prices are only valid for the first 500 customers of the ‘Goldie’, since the new taxation laws have come into effect.
After this batch, the starting price of the Gold Star will be Rs 3.31 lakh, which is Rs 21,000 more than the current base price. The Gold Star is the only affected model under Classic Legends’ umbrella, and the other bikes under the Jawa/Yezdi banner have all seen a price reduction.
