Triumph Scrambler 400 XC vs Scrambler 400 X: price and differences explained

Triumph has launched the Scrambler 400 XC. Along with a new suffix, the XC gets a handful of accessories as standard, and this model will be sold alongside the standard model. Here are all the differences between the two.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC vs Scrambler 400 X: wheels

The major differentiating factor is that the higher-spec XC model gets cross-spoke wheels. This is also an attributing factor in driving the cost up by a fair bit. Cross-spoke wheels offer the best of both worlds: they provide the flex and durability of regular spoked wheels (for the most part) while offering the convenience of tubeless tyres.

Some of the accessories, which are optional on the 400 X, are now standard on the XC and body-coloured. The list includes a high fender and a flyscreen. Along with these cosmetic additions, Triumph has also provided additional protection in the form of a lower engine guard and an aluminium sump guard.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC vs Scrambler 400 X: colours

The higher-spec Scrambler 400 XC is available in 3 colours – yellow, white and black. The colour palette on the X includes 4 colours – matte khaki-green with black, white with black, matte red with black and white with black.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC vs Scrambler 400 X: price

Priced at Rs 2.94 lakh, the top-spec 400 XC costs Rs 27,000 more than the 400 X, which is priced at Rs 2.67 lakh. This places it in the ballpark of the KTM 390 Adventure X (Rs 2.91 lakh) and the RE Himalayan 450 (Rs 2.85 lakh - Rs 2.98 lakh).
