Should you buy the Toyota Innova Crysta or wait for the next-gen Innova?

The new Innova with its petrol-hybrid powertrain would offer low running costs. There wont be a diesel-engine like the one seen on the Innova Crysta.

We've owned 2 subsequent Toyota Innovas since 2009 and are currently using our third – Innova Crysta 2.8 AT. My family is looking to replace it with the new Innova Crysta, however, Toyota has discontinued the 2.8L engine, and the new model isn't much different to justify the purchase.  Do I look at any other brand or wait for the all-new Innova?

Autocar India says: Since you already own the Crysta, the model on sale currently won't feel very different, so we'd suggest you hold on to your existing Innova Crysta for some more time as the all-new Innova is likely to make its debut towards the end of this year. It will sport new styling, comfier interiors, more equipment and come powered by a petrol-hybrid powertrain, so running costs are likely to be as low as a diesel vehicle. Click here to know more about it.
