Mini Countryman JCW 5 things to know

Mini will be launching the Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) in India on October 14, 2025. Pre-bookings of the sporty SUV are underway, and upon launch, it will be the only ICE-powered Countryman version in India, as it is currently available in an EV avatar. If you are interested in the Mini Countryman JCW, here are 5 things you need to know about it:

  1. Powered by a 300hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine
  2. Completes a 0-100kph run in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250kph
  3. Prices expected to start from Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom)

What engine will the Mini Countryman JCW get in India?

Under the hood, the Mini Countryman JCW will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that puts out 300hp and 400Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox, which will send power to all four wheels of the SUV. Mini claims that the Countryman JCW does a 0-100kph sprint in 5.4 seconds before maxing out at an electronically limited top speed of 250kph.

What are the design changes on the Countryman JCW?

Like the Countryman Electric JCW Pack, the ICE-powered model will get a lot of design elements that will make it look sportier than the regular model. It will get a blacked-out grille with Mini’s signature chequered flag monogram with ‘John Cooper Works’ written on it. It will also get larger air intakes on either side of the bumper, along with some red trims on the bumper and red decals on the hood for a sportier appearance.

Not just this, but the Countryman JCW will also feature JCW-specific rims, red brake calipers and a JCW badge on the C-pillar, alongside a red hue on the roof and ORVMs. At the rear, while the tail-lights will be the same as the regular model, the distinguishing bits include dual twin-tip exhausts, a black ‘Countryman’ lettering on the tailgate, a roof-mounted spoiler and a JCW badge.

Inside, the special edition Countryman model will come with an all-black cabin theme with red accents on the dashboard and seat upholstery, along with red ambient lighting to enhance its sporty feel.

What features will the Mini Countryman JCW offer?

Like the other Mini models in India, the upcoming Countryman JCW will be a feature-rich offering, including a 9.4-inch circular OLED infotainment system, which also does duties in the electric-powered Countryman model, but with JCW-specific UI changes. Other features will include a premium Harman Kardon sound system, a head-up display (HUD), auto AC with rear vents, electrically adjustable front seats with memory settings, a panoramic glass roof and a wireless phone charger.

Mini Countryman JCW: What is its expected price in India?

The Mini Countryman JCW is expected to be priced at around 70 lakh, ex-showroom, when it is launched in India. Back in June 2025, Mini launched the Countryman Electric with a JCW Pack, and only 20 units of the eSUV were allotted to the Indian masses. If Mini pulls off a similar move with the ICE-powered Countryman JCW, prices can soar higher than our expectations to mark the exclusivity.

Mini Countryman JCW: What cars will it rival in India?

The Mini Countryman JCW Pack will not have any direct competitor in India. However, the Volkswagen Golf GTi can be considered the nearest logical alternative to it.
