Under GST 2.0, the tax on bikes and scooters below 350cc has been slashed from 28 percent to 18 percent, prompting price cuts across the segment. Commuter bikes and scooters under Rs 1 lakh have dropped by as much as Rs 10,000, offering relief after a constant upward trend in prices that we had grown accustomed to. With the festive season approaching, the timing is fortuitous for buyers, though competition remains intense. In this analysis, we put two of the most popular 125cc scooters – the Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access – head-to-head, comparing their current ex-showroom prices, shifts from earlier rates and how they stack up against each other.

Honda Activa 125 price after GST

It has received a price cut of up to Rs 8,259

The Activa 125 is offered in two variants—DLX and H-Smart—priced at Rs 88,339 and Rs 91,983, respectively. Following GST 2.0, the scooter received a price cut of up to Rs 8,259. For the top-end H-Smart variant, the pre-GST price would have been just over Rs 1 lakh.

The Activa 125 remains one of the best-selling products from the Japanese manufacturer. It is powered by a 123.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8.4hp and 10.5Nm. With its recent emission-related update, the Activa 125 also gained a TFT display.

Suzuki Access price after GST

The Access has become more affordable by up to Rs 8,523.

The Suzuki Access is offered in more variants than the Activa 125, including the Standard Edition, Special Edition, Ride Connect Edition, and Ride Connect TFT Edition. Prices currently start at Rs 77,284 and go up to Rs 93,877 for the top-spec variant. This marks a significant drop compared to earlier prices, which ranged from Rs 84,000 to Rs 1.02 lakh, reflecting reductions of Rs 7,106 to Rs 8,523.

Recently, Suzuki comprehensively updated the Access, bringing changes to its engine and chassis. Its design has also evolved with the addition of LED headlights and tail-lights, though it remains instantly recognisable as an Access. Powering the scooter is a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8.4hp and 10.2Nm.
