BMW’s latest addition to the GS family will also serve as the entry point to the range, replacing the erstwhile G 310 GS. The ‘baby’ GS will be manufactured in India at TVS’ Hosur plant and is offered in three variants – Base, Exclusive and GS Trophy – with each step up adding more equipment.
Irrespective of the variant, the 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48hp and 43Nm remains unchanged.
Base variant:
Rs 4.70 lakh
The Base variant covers the essentials and establishes the core package. It comes equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display with USB-C charging, adjustable hand levers, heated grips and all-LED lighting, with the DRL reminiscent of the larger R 1300 GS.
Hardware includes a 180mm travel upside-down fork, an adjustable rear spring strut and a 19/17-inch wheel setup. The electronics suite comprises ABS Pro, traction control (DTC), dynamic brake control (DBC) and engine drag torque control. Adjustable front levers and a height-adjustable (20mm) rear brake lever are also common across the board. In this form, the F 450 GS is positioned as a straightforward, road-biased ADV with touring capability.
The Base variant is only available in the Cosmic Black shade and is priced at Rs 4.70 lakh.
Exclusive variant:
Rs 4.90 lakh
The Exclusive variant builds on this with additional rider aids and functional upgrades. It adds riding modes and a bi-directional quickshifter, expanding the bike’s electronic capabilities. Equipment changes include a clear windshield, black handguards, a plastic engine guard and off-road footrests. These additions broaden the bike’s scope, making it more suitable for mixed usage that includes light off-road riding alongside touring.
The Exclusive variant is also available only in Black Cosmic shade and is priced at Rs 4.90 lakh, marking a premium of Rs 20,000 over the Base variant.
GS Trophy variant:
Rs 5.30 lakh
The range-topping GS Trophy variant introduces further changes aimed at off-road use. It features a sport suspension setup, an aluminium engine guard and Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) as standard. The ERC is a centrifugal clutch that enhances rideability, allowing you to come to a standstill and get going without manually engaging the clutch.
Visual and functional differences include a tinted rally-style windshield, white hand guards and a white main frame, along with the GS Trophy livery. Compared to the other variants, this version is configured with a stronger focus on off-road riding.
At Rs 5.30 lakh, the GS Trophy variant marks a Rs 40,000 premium over the Exclusive variant and a substantial Rs 60,000 premium over the Base variant.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
