The 150cc+ scooter segment in India heated up with the introduction of the Yamaha Aerox a few years ago. Then, in January this year, Hero launched the Xoom 160, and now TVS has brought in the new Ntorq 150. All these scooters are tempting options but will appeal to a different type of rider. Here is a specification comparison to help you make an informed decision.

TVS Ntorq 150 vs rivals: Engine and output

The Xoom 160 has the highest displacement, the Aerox is the most powerful, while the Ntorq 150 is the most torquey

Torque14.2Nm at 5,500rpm (0.7Nm from ISG)13.9Nm at 6,500rpm14Nm at 6,500rpm
The Ntorq is the only scooter in this comparison with an air-cooled engine. While all three scooters have strong power and torque figures, the Aerox stands out with the best power-to-weight ratio. The Ntorq, however, delivers its peak power and torque around 1,000rpm earlier than the Aerox and the Xoom. That, paired with the iGo assist system, should give it a punchier feel in initial acceleration.

TVS Ntorq 150 vs rivals: Weight and dimensions

The Ntorq appears to be the most approachable scooter for daily city riding

The Ntorq is the lightest scooter from the lot, has the most accessible seat height and the shortest wheelbase. The Xoom is the heaviest scooter, has the most generous fuel tank capacity and the highest ground clearance. The Aerox has the tallest seat height and the lowest ground clearance.

TVS Ntorq 150 vs rivals: Suspension, tyres and brakes

The Xoom and Aerox get 14-inch wheels, while the Ntorq gets 12-inch wheels

The Ntorq is aimed at city riding with 12-inch alloy wheels. The Xoom appears to be the largest and most rugged scooter that might even be able to complete longer distances comfortably. Despite the 14-inch alloy wheels on the Aerox, it has a stiff suspension setup that is not able to handle bad roads well. Compared to the Aerox and Ntorq, the Xoom makes use of block-pattern tyres.

TVS Ntorq 150 vs rivals: Features

The TVS Ntorq is the most technologically advanced option

The top-spec variant of the Ntorq gets a colour TFT screen, while the other two scooters get a digital display. The Aerox and Ntorq also get a traction control system, which the Xoom misses out on. The Ntorq and the Xoom support turn-by-turn navigation, while the Aerox misses out on this feature. Additionally, the iGo assist system for torque boost is only available on the Ntorq. The standout feature on the Xoom is a smart key, which can also open the seat remotely. Additionally, the Version S (top-spec variant) of the Aerox gets a smart key as well.

TVS Ntorq 150 vs rivals: Price

The Ntorq is the most affordable scooter, making it a great value for money

The entry-spec variant of the Ntorq 150 is approximately Rs 30,000 cheaper than the Xoom and the Aerox, while the top-spec variant is around Rs 20,000 cheaper. This makes it an attractive deal when you consider it is the latest scooter, packed with features, and looks really attractive as well.
