My budget is ₹12-15 lakh. I need a car for a family of five, with priorities in this order: safety, reliability, comfort on bad roads, value for money, and highway comfort. I’m not keen on gimmicky features. I’m leaning toward the Citroen Aircross X but also considering the 3XO, Taisor, and Honda City.

We suggest going for the Citroen Aircross X or the Basalt as they are larger than the Mahindra 3XO, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor or even the Honda City.
Both are these Citroen cars are spacious, have excellent ride quality, and offer great comfort in the front and rear seats. The turbo petrol engine has ample power for city and highway use, and the massive boot adds to its practicality. While it misses out on a few features compared to the Mahindra XUV 3XO, it more than makes up for it with comfort and practicality, which perfectly suit your needs.

I’m looking to buy a car within a budget of ₹15-16 lakh. My daily commute is around 100-150 km, mostly on highways, along with occasional long drives with my family. Safety is a top priority for me, along with reliable after-sales service for hassle-free ownership and a decent set of features. Could you please suggest suitable options?

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris would be a good option for you. The car is safe with many standard features like 6 airbags and traction control, and it has secured a 5-star crash rating in both the GNCAP and BNCAP tests. The car is also well equipped, and Maruti Suzuki is well known for its hassle-free ownership, so it would deliver on all your requirements. The only point being your daily running is quite high, and thus a diesel could suit you better. If you are open to this, the Hyundai Creta would be a good option, though you would have a lower GNCAP rating of 3 stars and would have to opt for a lower-specced variant within your budget.

I have been riding the Pulsar for almost 15 years now. No major problems as such but it has started to vibrate a lot recently. It was always my dream bike. Should I upgrade it to the newer model or go for other options. Please suggest

Since you have owned a Pulsar and are attached to it, you could stay within the Bajaj fold and get the newer Pulsar N160. The N160 will be a big step up in terms of ride and handling, refinement and comfort from your old Pulsar 150.On the other hand, Bajaj is preparing to refresh the entire Classic Pulsar (the 125, 150 and 220F) portfolio later this year, and you could wait for some months and get one of these new bikes instead, too. If you want to look outside the Bajaj umbrella, options like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Honda SP160 / Unicorn are worth considering. Take a test ride of these bikes so you can make a more informed purchase.
