The 2025 MRF MMSC Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) wrapped up, with the finale held at the Madras International Circuit on January 9-11. RACR’s Rahil Pillarisetty clinched the title in the headlining Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open class. This is his second national title, following his Novice class title back in 2017.

Soorya PM, Raj Kumar and Rajender Beedani clinched their very first national titles.

Pillarisetty sealed the title with one race to spare, defeating his prime championship rival Sarthak Chavan to win Race 1 on Saturday. He followed that up with another win on Sunday to make it a clean sweep at the finale.

“I am happy but not over the moon with winning the title today. It is more of a huge relief that my eight-year wait for a championship finally ended,” said the 28-year-old. “In the past seasons, I have always finished second or third in the championship. Going into the race today, I was very calm. I was very aware of the two TVS boys, Sarthak (Chavan) and Chiranth (Vishwanath), behind me. I let them pass and then slowly started attacking them. I got past Chiranth, and in the last corner of the last lap, I saw a chance and took it. I moved on the inside, and Sarthak did not close the door, which helped me win.”

It’s been a dominant run to championship victory for Pillarisetty, who scored seven race wins and three podium finishes in 10 races this season.

Chandra LGE Racing’s Soorya PM ended a nine-year wait for his maiden national title. He kicked off the finale with victory in Race 1 and bagged another podium spot in Race 2, finishing third. His key rival, Savion Sabu, couldn’t present much of a challenge as he retired in Race 1 and finished fourth in Race 2.

“I had a difficult season but managed to put in consistent performances, which helped me today when I won the maiden national title of my racing career, which began in 2016,” said Soorya. “Through the season, I had close fights with Savion Sabu. He is just 18, and I am 32, but physically, I am fit. Anyway, happy to win the championship, and I thank the team for all the hard work behind the scenes.”

“It feels nice to win my first national championship. It has been a struggle for me and my family. I started racing in 2015. However, once my younger brother (Senthil Kumar) started doing well, I stopped to help him,” said Kumar. “But after a couple of years, I started racing again and competed with my brother, who is nearly 10 years younger than me.
