The second and the final day of Round 3 of the 2016 Indian National Racing Championship featured two of Honda’s one-make races at the MMRT. Both contests held on Sunday were Race 2 for their respective categories – the CBR 250R Open and CBR 150R Novice.
CBR 250R Open Race 2 results:
Honda one-make’s flagship series in the championship, having a total of 13 racers. Saw Race 1 winner Mathana Kumar cross the finish line first at the end of six laps with a time of 12:23:810 minutes, about three seconds slower than his Saturday time. The battle for top-spot was also tighter on Sunday, as Hari Krishnan R sped past the checkered flag just a few feet behind Mathana. Hari also clocked the fastest lap of the race (2:24:052 minutes). Rajiv S took the last step on the podium with a time of 12:33:133 minutes.
CBR 150R Novice category:
Like on Saturday, bike no.7 (Anish Shetty) and no.12(Soorya P M) faught tooth and nail for pole position. On Sunday however, it was Anish, who after overtaking Soorya in the third lap, managed to grab top spot with a time of 08.53.364 minutes. He finished just ahead of Soorya, who completed the four laps in 08.53.692 minutes. Piyush Ranjan with a time of 8.56.269 minutes finished third.
Round 4 of the Honda One Make Races will be conducted at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida in October 2016.
